Service Opportunities:

  • November 2 through November 18.
  • Lee County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit the Christians United Outreach Center of Sanford.
  • Canned food and boxes of non-perishable foods are requested. Please bring donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC 27330; Monday – Thursday from 3 PM – 5 PM or the Sanford Community Thanksgiving Service on November 19 at 7 PM.

  • November 10.
  • Scouts ages 11 and older are asked to help distribute food at Anderson Community Church, 2085 Ray Rd, Spring Lake NC 28390.
  • Duty hours are 9 AM – 12 Noon.
  • Interested Scouts/units are asked to contact Carlene Morales at (910) 485-6923 or via email at [email protected] to sign up. Please let her know how many Scouts/Scouters will be participating.
  • November 11.
  • Scouts ages 12 and older are asked to participate in a city-wide cleanup.
  • Distribution of litter bags, gloves plus water and snacks will be at 121 Lamon Street from Noon – 3 PM on November 10th.

  • November 11.
  • Scouts are asked to help clean between the headstones of between forty and fifty veterans as well as the placing of American Flags at the cemetery located at 2065 Old US Hwy 421, Lillington NC, 27546.
  • Cleaning begins at 9 AM. Scouts are advised to bring a stool or kneeling pads and work gloves. Warning: There are no bathrooms on site.

  • Cumberland County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit the Fayetteville Technical Community College Food Pantry located at the Horace Sisk Building, Room 708; 2204 Hull Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303.
  • Items requested include: Brown and white Rice, Canned green beans, Pasta salad kit, Apple sauce, Cereal bars.

  • Harnett County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit the Campus Pantry at Campbell University, located at the Wallace Center, 265 Main Street, Buies Creek, NC 27506.
  • Items requested include: Beans, Snack Foods/Crackers, Gluten-Free Items, Peanut Butter/Jelly, Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruits, Soup, Microwavable Pasta/Grains and Bread.

  • Cumberland County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit the Fayetteville State University Food Resource Pantry, located at the Carlton J. Barber Building, Fayetteville State University; 1200 Murchison Road, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
  • Items requested include: Canned foods, Instant Rice, Pasta Noodles, Bottled Water, Instant Noodles and Beans.

  • Moore County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit the Sandhills Community College Food Pantry, located at Room 223, Dempsey Student Center, 3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
  • Items requested include: Peanut butter/Jelly, Canned fruit, Granola bars, Fruit snacks and Ramen noodles.

  • Cumberland County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit the Lion’s Share Campus Food Pantry, located at the Matthews Ministry Center, Methodist University, 5400 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28311
  • Items requested include: Macaroni & Cheese Cups, Pasta mixes, Muffins, Popcorn, Raisins, Fruit Cups, Soups, Ravioli and Canned Pasta. Deliveries can be made on weekdays between 9 AM – 4 PM or by appointment to the Lion’s Share Food Pantry on campus.

  • Cumberland County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive for the Veterans Empowering Veterans Food Pantry, located at 325 B Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.

  • Scouts ages 12 and up are asked to help build bags of food for Moore County youth at The Food Bank, 195 Sandy Avenue, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
  • Every Thursday from 8 AM – 10:30 AM.

  • Harnett County units are asked to conduct a Food Drive to benefit Five N Two Food Pantry, located at 17247 NC 27 W, Sanford, NC 27332.
  • Scouts ages 13 and older are requested to help unload trucks; prepare food boxes and transport boxes to client’s vehicle. Duty hours: Monday 9 AM – 4 PM, Wednesday 9 AM – 3 PM and Friday 9 AM – 3 PM.
